I’ve recently come across two books that are resonating well with the business of communications.
The first is the New York Times bestseller, Made To Stick which encapsulates how to make those moments of communication meaningful and memorable – to make each experience “simple, unexpected, concrete, credentialed, emotional and story” driven. The brothers who authored write an easy read that should do for the communications field what The Tipping Point did for the marketing field.
The second is a recent release from the famous NYC restauranter Danny Meyers, called Setting The Table. My friend Paul works for him and my Broadstreet crew recently booked him to speak at the New York Times Small Business Summit. His approach to the “hospitality quotient” of a dining experience puts to words the “performance presence” my father taught me from age 15.
