In these times of “new transparency,” I’m excited to see how technology and crowdsourcing will add to the fire. As one example, XBRL proves to set a new standard and the SEC has required its use for public companies within the next 2 years. I have some corporate PR friends digging into it as we speak.
In another sign of the times, the St. Petersburg Times came out with a widget last month that measures President Obama against his campaign promises. Check out the Obameter – a dynamic widget (that could be more attractive) touting Obama’s fulfillments or lack thereof. It is a brilliant idea and one that will have traction for years.
